What to Bring to Your First Visit
Bring your Medicaid or insurance card and a photo ID. If you are not sure whether your plan is active or what it covers, bring the card anyway and we will check it for you before any treatment starts, you will know where you stand before we begin, not after.
New Patients Are Welcome
You do not need a referral. If it has been years since your last visit, that is genuinely fine, a lot of our patients are in exactly that position, and nobody here will lecture you about it. We will look, tell you plainly what we see, and go through the options in order of what matters most.
If You Are in Pain, Do Not Wait for an Appointment
Walk-ins are welcome and we hold same-day emergency spots. Dental problems do not improve on their own, and a small filling today is cheaper and easier than an extraction later. Call (313) 841-1010 or just come in.

When You Can Come In
We are open Saturdays 9:00am to 1:00pm if weekdays are difficult, and we take walk-ins and same-day appointments. Medicaid is accepted on any of those visits.

Does Medicaid cover dental in Michigan?
Yes. Michigan Medicaid includes dental benefits, and which program covers you depends on your age and your plan.
Children and young adults under 21
Healthy Kids Dental covers Michigan children and young adults under 21 who have Medicaid, at no cost to the family. It is the program most Detroit parents are asking about when they search for a dentist who takes Medicaid.
Adults 21 and over
Adults enrolled through the Healthy Michigan Plan have dental benefits as well. Many Michigan Medicaid health plans use Delta Dental to administer those benefits, and adults enrolled in both Medicare and Medicaid may be covered through MI Coordinated Health.
Exactly what is covered, and how often, depends on which health plan you are enrolled with. You do not need to work that out on your own. Call us at (313) 841-1010 with the plan name on your card and we will check your coverage before you come in, so there are no surprises at the desk.

Are you accepting new Medicaid patients right now?
Yes. We take new Medicaid patients, adults and children, and you do not need a referral to book.
Will I have to pay anything at the visit?
For covered treatment under Medicaid there is normally nothing to pay at the visit. If any part of a treatment plan is not covered, we tell you the cost in writing first and you decide before we begin.
What if I am not sure my Medicaid is still active?
Bring your card or your Medicaid ID number and we will verify it for you. If coverage has lapsed we will tell you what it costs to be seen and what your options are.
Do you see children on Healthy Kids Dental?
Yes, we see children on Healthy Kids Dental, including first visits, checkups, cleanings and fillings.
