Walking In vs Calling First
You can walk in. We would still rather you called first, and here is the honest reason: a phone call takes two minutes and tells us what you are coming for. That lets us put you in a slot that is long enough for the work, instead of you sitting in the waiting room while we try to make room.
If you cannot call — you are already nearby, or you have been putting it off and today is the day you decided — come in. We will fit you in where we can. If the schedule is genuinely full we will say so and give you the earliest slot rather than let you wait for hours.
What Same-Day Actually Means
Same-day means we see you today. It does not always mean everything is finished today, and it is worth knowing the difference before you arrive.
- Often finished the same visit: an examination and x-ray, a simple filling, a straightforward extraction, re-cementing a crown that has come loose, treating an infection.
- Usually takes more than one visit: root canal treatment, crowns and bridges, implants, dentures. The first visit gets the pain under control and gets a plan in place.
Either way you will be told what we found, what it costs and what happens next before any treatment starts.
What to Bring
- Photo ID
- Your insurance or Medicaid card, if you have one
- A list of any medications you take
- For a child, the parent or guardian
No card and no insurance does not mean no treatment. Tell us at the desk and we will go through what things cost before you commit.
Best Times to Walk In
Mornings are usually quieter than late afternoons. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday we are open until 6:00pm, so early evening is an option. Saturday we run 9:00am to 1:00pm and it fills quickly — see our Saturday page if the weekend is what you need.
If You Are in Pain
Say so when you arrive or when you call. Pain and swelling get seen ahead of routine appointments — that is not a courtesy, it is how dental triage works. Our emergency dentist page covers what to do before you get here.
Common Questions
Do I need to be an existing patient?
No. New patients are welcome and no referral is needed.
How long will I wait as a walk-in?
It depends entirely on the day. Calling ahead is the reliable way to avoid a wait. If we cannot see you within a reasonable time we will tell you rather than leave you guessing.
Do you take Medicaid?
Yes, along with Healthy Kids Dental and most major dental insurance. Details are on our Medicaid page.
